I don’t need to tell you that December is a busy month. With everything you have to focus on right now, it is tempting to want to hibernate until spring. As a small business owner, you know that is not an option. Now is the time to take a break from the holiday rush and start planning ahead for February. The temperature outside will still be quite cold, but the month of February is all about warmth. Valentine’s Day, American Hearth Month, and Random Acts of Kindness Week are just a few of the observances designed to melt away the winter blues.

Super Bowl Sunday is February 4th. Over the years it has become a theme as much as an event. Your business can take advantage of the hype by offering specials/promotions relating to the event itself, or by specifically attracting people who do not plan to watch the game. Consider giving away super bowl party supplies in advance (be sure they feature your logo and website).

Be Patriotic

President’s Day sales are popular with consumers and businesses alike. Consumers anticipate decent markdowns and may have extra cash to spend from early tax refunds. To stand out from the crowd, be unique with your offers or the items you choose to promote. Use patriotic themes for advertising and marketing content.

Have a Heart

Show your customers you care during the month of February. Send thank you emails to those on your list and include special offers or gifts on their next visit. Participate in Random Acts of Kindness and encourage your customers to join you. Offer suggestions for Valentine’s Day gifts.
